Suggestions for headphone amps?

Didn't think this was really music talk and not home theater, so here it is for the mods to ponder.

Anyone use an amp for their headphones? Just picked up a pair of Etymotic Research ER6i and saw than several people recommended getting one.

Any love for kvrdave?

Ask these people http://head-fi.org/
I thought about getting one before I found out how much they cost. Maybe someday, but I spent enough money on the headphones.

I found several on ebay that are homemade for around $50, and there is a Radio Shack one for around $20, but don't know enough about it.

Haha, somebody moved your cheese! Do you really have to know anything about them to avoid the Radio Shack one? There is a lot of info on headfi about the homemade ones. They have a section where they sell and trade. That'd probably be a safer bet than Ebay.

My cheese moved Yeah, I'll keep looking. I suppose I should wait for the new headphones to see if I even need them.

I doubt you would need an amp for the ER6i's.

Those are more for cans than for ear canal units.
