Wesley Snipes' next direct-to-video movie The Marksman!

DVDAnswers' listing

Boy, how the mighty have fallen. Although, ironically, I might pick this up. I'm always in the mood for a decent mindless military action flick.

It could be worse, it could be Seagal on the cover, in a movie called Submerged.

With his latest DTV movie, 7 Seconds, hitting store shelves today, it doesn't look like there's going to be much life after Blade for Wesley Snipes.

Well, one also has to wonder if Tom Cruise will be the next A-lister to fall. With all his blabbering about that scientology cult that no one should ever get into.

Yep, Snipes definitely seems to be going the Seagal DTV route. It's a shame, I actually really enjoyed their big studio films, but the DTV stuff is virtually unwatchable even for hardcore fans.

I don't know. Unstoppable and Undefeated were actually pretty good Wesley DTV pics.

I never considered Snipes to be an A-list actor, so I don't know how far he's actually fallen. He's made some marginal action flicks like Passenger 57, Demolition Man, or U.S. Marshalls, with Blade arguably being his best. Except for Blade, Snipes has never lit the screen on fire, but he seems to do a lot of movies in the action genre. I've never seen any of Snipes's or Seagal's DTV movies, so exactly how bad can they be?

True, I shouldn't have immediately lumped Snipes in with Seagal's Bulgaria (or wherever those flicks are made) DTV's, as the two you mentioned were pretty decent. But the path can only lead down from here.

Snipes still has the physicality to pull off the action flicks. However, someone really needs to whisper in Seagal's ear that it's far past time to hang things up. His last few DTV's have almost stopped trying to disguise the fact that there's a WELL-padded stunt double kicking people 200 feet through windows. As far as enjoyable plotlines go check out the descriptions of the past four years worth his flicks and see if you sense a pattern. I still try to watch them so I can appreciate the good ole wrist snapping, body-slamming days.

This is going to be awesome, on the scale of Universal Soldier: The Return.

C'mon... Snipes was A-list. He's definitely hit rock bottom, but you gotta give him props for New Jack City. He was great as "Nino Brown."

Although I enjoyed New Jack City I never considered it an A-list movie.

I think Cruise is safe. No matter how "out-there" his personal beliefs are, he can still pack em' in at the local cineplex. Snipes however, not so much.

Well, since Scientology has worked so well for Cruise and friends, perhaps Wesley should drop the act and fully embrace Nuwaubianism. It can't hurt... Can it?
