Hardcore Gamer Magazine
I haven't read the past issues, but this has been recommended to me by a gaming friend who holds it in high regard. Apparently they have their past issues somewhere on their site in PDF format. Did the survey for 6 months free yesterday (hard copies via mail). Maybe we'll finally get a good videogame magazine again, but of course we shall see.

They already need a new editor. In one review, the reviewer goes on about how the word epic is overused and is just a buzzword (just so he can use it for the game he's reviewing), and then in another review, a reviewer starts out using the word as a buzzword. Plus, some sloppy writing mistakes.
If a magazine wants to be taken seriously in my eyes, it needs to get with the program and tighten its writing style.
As I've glanced over the first issue pdf, this just appears to be more of the same. But, that seems to be what people are buying. Writers go by pseudonyms (is this cool? do readers like this?) and mostly it is just a bunch of shallow hype, especially most of the previews. I'll read the second pdf before passing final judgment, but I don't have much hope.
They at least are trying to have some articles with a different/unique flavor, but they have so ways to go with those. Glad to see "North and South" show up after all these years. I still have my copy and always enjoyed the game.

I saw an issue of this in the hands of a couple people at E3 on day 3, but they must've ran out quickly because I couldn't find where they got em.
Signed up for the trial - thanks.
