Nintendo's booth has two systems at remote locations for the DSpeak demo. Both systems are connected to each other using the WiFi internet capabilities of the Nintendo DS system The demo is incredibly simple: using a connected headphone/microphone piece, you speak into the microphone and listen with the earpiece. You essentially hold conversations using the Nintendo DS over the internet.
The demo features a 3D Nintendo character on the upper screen, with a wavelength meter displayed on the lower screen. On my screen was Mario, on the other guy, Wario. Mario moved his mouth to the sound coming through on the other guy's end, though the model couldn't differentiate standard voice and surrounding noise...so Mario kept moving his mouth since there was ambient noise in the Nintendo booth. The delay between the two systems was extremely minimal, similar to what you'd get when two people on cellphones are trying to converse with each other. I could see the guy speak to me, and the delay was only a couple of milliseconds due to the compression and data transmission. Audio quality was perfectly fine, as good as a mobile phone.
Whether or not this application will ever come to light is still up in the air...right now it's just a concept demo. And, at the very least, it worked.

I cringe at surgery related things usually, but I am looking forward to Trauma Center.

I had to go with Trace Memory. I was a fan of the old Sierra point click adventures (Space/Kings Quest) and this game is very similar with a mystery element. Trauma Center would be my second pick.

Trace Memory looks good, but my vote will have to go to Age of Empires. I can't wait for that one.

While I've been pretty quiet on the DS front, the trailer Nintendo sent out with the free subscription really pimped out a lot of great looking titles for the little system; it also showed that the system is graphically more capable then what a lot of people are thinking (looking at Viewtiful Joe and Nintendogs specifically). On top of that, there seems to be a lot of 2D love planned and I can't say how much I tingle thinking about how good Mario & Luigi looked on the GBA and imagining what they can do with the DS power.
Now, do I wait for a US black DS, or risk importing a Japanese unit?
(Risk as in getting one with dead pixels and being STUCK with it!)

Snowboard kids looks pretty fun, Im gonna have to play Trauma Center first but it does look very impressive. On a side note I played Meteos today and damn that game is sweet.

None of the above...
Lunar: Dragon Song.
All about the Lunar
Although a TBS like Age of Empires DS sounds neat. I voted for AoE. Romance of the Three Kingdoms is apparently coming out too (at least in Japan, hopefully in the U.S.).
