Problem with THE CRITIC and DILBERT
I'm curious at to whether anyone else has this problem: whenever I put in the first disc from the DILBERT complete series set or any disc from THE CRITIC complete series set, it plays up to the menu just fine. When I select either "Play all" or an individual episode, it shows the FBI warning, then the English language disclaimer about the commentaries not necessarily being the opinion of Columbia Sony Tri-Star yada yada yada, then it keeps repeating the English language disclaimer and will not, I say again not, advance to the actual episode. I've tried fast forwarding past the spot, with no luck. Hitting the "next chapter" button also brings up three lemons, as does trying to enter manually a specific track or chapter and then hitting "Go to." I have checked the disc surface and I don't see any identifiable nicks or scratches. I'm using a Cyberhome CH 500 player. I have tried the DILBERT on an Apex and it played okay. Any suggestions, besides buying a new DVD player?
Thanks.
Thanks.

It's a glitch specific to that company; I've had that problem with 'The Tick' and the second disc of the SE of 'Black Hawk Down' (though the first disc played fine). Fortunately, whatever caused the glitch (I don't know what it is) seems to have been changed, because I've gotten knew discs from them and they play fine. And the problem seems to *only* be on the Cyberhomes.
[PS: Thanks to your tip, I'm not going to bother buying 'The Critic' any time soon, so thanks for saving me some cash.]

I had the same problem with the Dilbert discs, plus some others from the same studio. I was able to work around it by hitting STOP, then skipping through the titles on the disc, I believe using the chapter skip button (don't remember the exact procedure). I was renting the discs and don't think I own any that have this problem, so I can't cxheck out the procedure. I'm sure if you play around with it a bit you can come up with a workaround.

I don't own Dilbert, but I've never had any problems with Critic or Tick at all, since I bought them on the day they came out.
