Destroy All Humans
Picked up Destroy All Humans for the Xbox after an excellent trade-in deal at EBGames this weekend. Pretty sweet game! Definitely fun for fans of the 50s cheese. Came with a free Plan 9 from Outer Space DVD, and I understand that Teenagers from Outer Space is an unlockable extra on the game disc.

Wow, I didn't know it was released yet....I have it on pre-order at GameRush (after deals) and I don't think I can pick it up until tomorrow....
I can wait though, since I'm still playing GTA:SA for XBOX

I might after I get to level 3. From what I understand, the first two levels are nothing compared to the vastness of level 3 and beyond.
But up to this point, the game has a great sense of humor. Load times are very quick. To get a Teen rating the game is bloodless, so while it is rather violent there's no blood... only goo.

So it's definitely worth the $20 I paid.

this game is definately joining my collection soon (after summer job $$$ and maybe a pricedrop), just beause the demo was so promising. From what youve played so far, is the game as non-linear as ive heard?

Any game where aliens can use an anal probe on humans and watch their brains squish out of their heads is a thumbs up in my book. LOL
I will get it eventually, but wait for the price to drop a bit. No sense in buying it now when in a few months it'll be on sale for $29.99 or less.

Awesome game, I played for 2 hours just reading peoples minds and doing anal probes
The Gamestop "get 50% more per trade in" deal is better then the EB, I think. Cost me $6 for the game after trading in a couple of crap games and 2 copies of March Madness 2005 I got for Best Buy for $5 each

I agree with some of the points of the IGN review, but I'd still give it a higher rating just for creativity and originality alone. Sure it has its flaws, but have you played anything like it before?

Man I forgot how expensive renting games the regular way was. Gamerang hadn't shipped this out as I had hoped today so I went out and rented it locally.
It's a great concept and fun but this game but I'm glad I rented it first. I was going to go ahead and buy this if Blockbuster didn't have it so I'm very thankful they did.
It's a creative game and certainly becomes more fun with the better weapons but the Crypto's voice/personality is really annoying.

The better weapons really make the later levels more fun. I'm about 30% done and it's growing on me a bit.

I don't play many games - the last one I bought was San Andreas... but I saw the commercial for this one and it looks like something I'd dig. And with the positive buzz here... I think I'll do a trade-in deal to pick this up.

I really liked the concept of the game and I got into it more than I thought. A few times when I'd fail a mission I'd turn off the XBOX. Then a bit later I'd try again and have no problems with the objectives. I give then developers high praises for trying something new and taking a chance. I guess I'm just impatient because I was enjoying myself up until....
Large and dangerous missions need to be divided up a bit more. I got tired of mission where you have to stir up a ton of people by invading some area and then run back to your ship with everyone after you. It takes far too long to wait out you wanted level and have it return to normal. I'm pretty sure that if you just paused and selected Return To The Mothership the mission would of failed because getting back to the ship was the last objective right?
I put the game back in the case and and will most likely return it after work tomorrow until I get one last urge to attempt the mission I mentioned above.

Sounds like mixed reviews....I still have yet to play the game, just sits there. I guess GTA:SA (XBOX) has got me involved now, then there is Halo2, then my MVP season....too many games. I'm sure I'll get to DAH eventually, to even see if I like it.

I hate escort missions.
I like the concept, and I definitely like the atmosphere and sense of humor/cheesiness, but so far the game itself doesn't draw me in a lot. Granted, i think I only started level 3 last night, but to me it feels a whole lot like Simpsons Hit and Run with a few tweaks [like flying the spaceship, which admittedly is very cool.] Anal probing humans doesnt' seem like enough to keep me interested.
It's pretty funny throughout, which is great, but I don't know if that's enough to keep me going. I'll try another couple levels, since games usually take a while to 'get going'.

I agree, it does feel like Simpsons Hit and Run. I am about 20% through (I heard that you can finish the game around 60% if you don't look for all the hidden items and such) and it's starting to bore me. The humor keeps getting better, though. Anyhow, I can't see going through this again after I am done, so I'll be getting rid of it. Good for 8-10 hours of play, though.

Ok, I finally played the game.....I played the first two or three levels and it's just ok. NOthing too specail about the game. I found myself getting a bit bored with it. I'm sure I'll play it more, but I'll eventually trade/sell it.

I think I'm at 54% complete and I've played 16 or so missions. It does get a tedious, at times, as there's only so many "levels" and you just go back and forth between them until a new one is unveiled. I'm at the mission now where you have to stay disguised to follow some military guy, then you have to take his appearance and convince the other military guys (of something?). The cloaking/disguise thing is an effort in frustration, as often times, the alien reverts back to normal with no warning and plenty of brain power.
And yeah, they need to have some sort of autosave in some of the bigger levels. It is very annoying to reach a part, be discovered, then have to re-start (after returning to the mothership) from the beginning.
