Stripes bonus scenes piss anyone else off?
I like the bonus scenes being incorporated back into the movie, but did they really have to have "bonus scene begins/ends" at the bottom of the screen? When the first one came on, I was like "NNNNOOOOOO!!!!"
Anyone else absolutely hate this?

It's annoying, but even more annoying is how they didn't actually seamlessly branch this, but rather just programmed the extended version to cut to the next scene for the theatrical version. It's especially noticeable when they meet the girls in Germany and it fades in the extended, but cuts awkwardly in the theatrical.
But piss me off? No.

Actually, they're seamed in just fine, no botched job at all. My bitch is the fact that it says "begin bonus scene" right on the screen, no way to turn it off.
Sounds almost like Skoobooz got a bad copy or something.

I don't like it either, but i don't let it stop me from enjoying the movie. I would love to know the reason why Sony did this. The audio/video is much improved over the original release, it's just too bad about the bonus scene/ bonus scene ends markers not being optional.

Yeah, it would've been good the first time I watched this version but after that I don't see the purpose. As for the scenes themselves, I actually liked them except for the weird one where they end up with the foreigners in the woods. It felt like it was from another movie entirely and should've stayed cut, IMO.

Are the words burned-in or player generated?
If player generated, they're probably part of a subtitle track... try turning the subtitles to OFF directly with the remote (not by going to dvd's menus)
