the cut 6/16/05
didnt see a thread for this yet. just watched the 2nd part of it - didnt nkow it was on, just flipping through, thought id give it a try.
UGH. my bad.
this is another sign that the reality-show phenomenom is going way too far. this show shoudlnt be on tv. (dont get me started on the gilligans island show). there is no reason to watch this show. the gay guy, tommy, holy crap, why wasnt he fired? he tried to throw more bullshit at hillfiger than a monkey in a cowfield. couldnt name ONE celebrity? idiot.
as for the catch phrase - sorry but you're out of style? give me a break. is he trying to be like trump? its like comparing gilligans island to survivor.

I missed the first one but caught it tonight. It's totally an Apprentice clone. If anything it's a far more blatant clone than the Benefactor or Rebel Billionaire were, because this clones just about every detail of The Apprentice. They changed a few details, but not much.
On the bright side, Hilfiger was a capable enough 'lead', and actually seemed to make more sense in his spiels than Trump has lately. The cast is pretty close to what you'd find on the Apprentice as well: a few good contestants, a few worthless contestants, and a few obvious screwups and wackjobs (like Tommy) to stir things up. I like that the task actually made sense and involved different elements. I didn't like the Awards show "side task", however, as it was distracting from the main point. Plus I hated the way they were picked for it.

Bravo's Project Runway starring Heidi Klum was a better show using the same concept becuase the "challenges" were better and the contestants weren't so annoying (except for Wendy Pepper) and they were more imaginative. I understand the second season is currently filming right now.
