Family Guy Straight-to-DVD Movie 9/27/05

From DavisDVD:

After one of the most remarkable turnarounds from the cold grip of cancellation, the juggernaut that is Family Guy is set to make more history - not to mention cash - with the premiere of a straight-to-DVD feature film. Due on September 27th is Family Guy Presents Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story which, according to the studio's synopsis, finds baby Stewie setting out on a road trip to find his real father after a near-death experience. The DVD will be presented uncut and unrated (read: more offensive) and will include a commentary track, deleted scenes, behind-the-scenes and other bonus features. Stay tuned for official artwork shortly.

As we saw in the one season finale, they can keep a story running for at least an hour without any problems.

Maybe I'm the only one who thinks Stewie for 75 minutes is too much.

You are not the only one. I'll rent it first to see whether I want to buy it or not.

Am I the only one that finds a feature of "deleted scenes" on a made for DVD release to be more than a little odd?

I dont think its odd. a movie may have deleted scenes no matter if its made for a theatre, TV or DVD.

not really odd..I'm sure they write/script/animate more than what they need..and put it together...but it could just be something for the extra features for the fans...create some extra/deleted/extended scenes..since it's going to be "uncut" and "unrated" they might go all out ..but even hold some back because it might be "too much" and keep it as a deleted/extended scene ...but I think there's been other "deleted" scenes for cartoons and animated stv stuff before (I think).

It will be presented uncut and unrated compared to what? ALL TV DVDs are basically unrated because they are not submitted to the MPAA for a rating, and why would it be uncut when it never was submitted to be aired on TV? Frickin marketing ploys.
