What (old) series is this episode from?
DVDtalkers, indulge me if you will with an I.D. request for an old tv show episode. I know that most of the discussion here is of current shows, but if there are any experts on shows from before the 80s reading ...
I'm pretty sure the episode I am thinking of is from a TV series and not a broadcast of a theatrical movie or a tv movie. I saw it when I was perhaps 10 (in the early 70s) but it might be from an earlier series that was being syndicated.
The thing that I remember is that a criminal trial was taking place. During the procedings, the defendant filled page after page of a notepad with elaborate doodles of circles, each page in a different intricate pattern. He spent his entire time doing this, which so unnerved one of the witnesses on the stand, that she broke down in hysterics over how she believed he was guilty, yet spent the trial calmly drawing away. I don't remember how everything ended.
I don't think this was a theatrical movie. It's entirely possible that it was from a well known series like Perry Mason, but I think it's more likely a less familiar show.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
