The Amazing Race on GSN!

I just saw an ad on Game Show Network: Starting July 11th, The Amazing Race will be aired nightly at 9:00, starting with Season 1's premier!!

Since I just started watching TAR this season, I can't wait!

never caught season one, but season 2 is a must see. Some very great teams. Will and Tara are my all time favorite team.

Hurray, my Tivo ARWL picked this up, starts Monday, and on GSN they say its the 1st 7 seasons.

My Tivo will be loaded.

I have a TiVo wishlist for "Amazing Race" and it's recording twice per evening. Unless they're playing two episodes per day, it's apparently not distinguishing a difference.

I noticed that too. The guide data for the episodes seems to be generic. Hopefully GSN will remedy that between now and showtime.

Thanks for the reminder. I have to catch the first 3 seasons. Thanks to the daily format, it should only take 6 weeks to do so.

When did you guys start watching?

I started in S1 about 6 or 7 eps in. I think they were in thailand. I was hooked in the 25 mins I saw of that ep.

S1 is great, the teams are pretty fun.

I started with the first episode of Season 4. But, through the magic of forces unnamed, I've seen every episode now. I'm just looking forward to seeing it in better quality than what amounts to "ninth generation VHS".

I watched from the beginning but got real busy during season two and the Tivo started deleting them before I watched them, so I only saw the first 2 episodes of season 2. I've seen all the other seasons. Should be fun to watch again, though

I started watching with Season 3. I was turned onto this show by this very forum, from folks who praised it in "The Mole" threads. So I have two "fresh" seasons waiting for me!

Don't count on it. The guide data for GSN is terribly generic.

Take it from someone who has a Wink Martindale wishlist.

That's too bad. One of the things I like the most about the show are the fun titles.

I think the two episodes that are in the Tivo guide are the 9pm EST showing and the midnight showing for the west coast. So they are essentially showing each episode twice per evening.

At least I hope, I have a conflict on the first night.

That's what my assumption is, too. GSN is tough to setup a season pass for; if you don't continuously edit the to-do list, you get 30 of the same episodes!

Thanks for the news. This is my all time favorite reality show. I started watching the show with season 5. So these will be all new to me.

I set this up for my mom on her Tivo since she was complaining that she had nothing to watch all summer. She was one of the many who started watching last season because of Romber and was hooked in the process.

Thanks for the tip about the possibility of it recording the same ep multiple times - I'll check her Tivo the next time I'm over there.

Just bumping it for the premiere tonight! new episodes will air daily from 9:00 pm ET-10:00 pm ET with a replay of that episode at 12:00 am ET (midnight)-1:00 am ET.

(Glad for the midnight replay as due to other programs etc at 9:00 pm ET, I'll probably be forced to catch the later showing most of the time. As for "taping" I'll try to get the first/last episodes of each season and maybe certain episodes where my favorites were eliminated. I would rather wait and get the whole seasons already put on DVD for me.)

LB-who has been there from the start!

We should have someone change the title. to reflect it starting.

Or maybe we need a TAR Season 1 Discussion?
