Defective DVD - Can I get a replacement? (Fargo SE, MGM)

I got this dealing with a guy in an online forum. It looks perfect, virtually new in every respect: Fargo Special Edition, UPC: 27616 88415. The disk is clean and like a mirror. The widescreen side doesn't play correctly, however. My Momitsu V880 standalone player, mid-way in chapter 25 skips forward to the beginning of chapter 27. In my Philips player, the movie freezes a couple of times in the middle of chapter 25.

Is it possible to get a replacement disk from MGM Home Entertainment?

Edit: I went to MGM's site and entered a message online under subject "Defective DVD", explaining things. Hopefully, they'll get back to me and I'll get a replacement. I said I'd be happy to send them the defective disk.

It might be easier to talk to the person you bought the DVD from to get an exchange or a refund.

Thanks! Should I include the whole thing, case/insert/disk? Or just the disk?
