i was wondering how this version is compared to the fox lorvber version that came out some 5 years ago.
I'm also wondering how the subtitles are as well.

For them to advertise it as "uncut" is a bit irritating. It implies that the theatrical cut which is on the Fox Lorber disc (as well as Criterion, HKL, etc.) is cut in some way. Yes, it is the longest version of The Killer available but it is not Woo's preferred cut but is more like a workprint. It was released in Taiwan I believe and it has burnt in English and Chinese subs. It is also dubbed in Mandarin. This version is also available on the 2 disc French release, which I own. This has some added and extended scenes and small changes to various scenes. I am glad I own this version but I don't find it to be a big deal at all and I much prefer the theatrical cut.

It's the same as the French HK Video release (disc #2), Even the running time so you know the 'Taiwanese' version is from a PAL source. Probably sourced from the French dvd, it would explain why it's anamorphic too.

I happened to look here, and found this little bit from the dvdtalk review of that set
Dialogue sync is also a little off. Fortune Star has also provided the original monaural mix in Dolby 2.0 mono. Fidelity on the mono track is slightly better in some respects, but the entire track is way out of sync with the on-screen action.
