TV Show Podcast/Commentarys Available for Download

Since this seems to be sort of a new trend, thought I'd make a little thread of "podcast commentarys" for those who may not have seen them mentioned in various threads or want to check them out.. Please read each page before you listen, as many contain spoilers, and tell you when to start and pause (usually indicated by a beeping sound)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

(Beware of spoilers! Although the commentary is provided before you watch the episode, it is meant to be listened to while watching the episode. Listening to it beforehand might ruin certain dramatic surprises.)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

"With the Battlestar Galactica podcast, you can listen to exclusive commentary by executive producer Ronald D. Moore about each episode, while you're watching it. There are two ways to enjoy this feature -- subscribe to our podcast feed or download individual mp3 files."

Star Trek: Enterprise (UPN)

S02E19 - Judgment - In this exclusive audio commentary, David A. Goodman (Star Trek: Enterprise writer and producer) discusses the episode "Judgment" with STARTREK.COM editorial director Tim Gaskill. S03E09 - North Star - In this exclusive audio commentary, David A. Goodman (Star Trek: Enterprise writer and producer) discusses the episode "North Star" with STARTREK.COM editorial director Tim Gaskill. I remember for the Season 2 premiere of Farscape, SciFi.com did a streaming commentary by two of the writer producers during the broadcast.

A very cool idea at the time, but it kind of went nowhere. Good to see that the idea isn't dead. I don't actually watch any of the shows above, but maybe this'll get some traction.

At the very least, I can listen to the TVGuide podcast at work.

I'm listening to the TVGuide one right now. There are podcasts done in people's basements with better sound quality than this one. Seems like a major publication could spring for some better equipment.

The back and forth banter can be pretty funny though.

Got around to listening to the TVGuide ones, and I couldn't believe how bad the quality was. The voice of one of the girls is extremely grating, and they spend way too much time dissing each other. I'll still listen to it, but I hope that it gets more focused, with better equipment.

Well, that's both good and bad news. Good that startrek.com actually has more podcasts to offer. Bad that is should really just be on the DVD itself to begin with.

hey Chew, the season 4 dvds for enterprise will have the 3 podcasts on the dvds.. Pretty interesting of them to put em on, but kind of ..cheaped out in a sense..makes me wonder why the new one coming out the end of the month isn't on the season two dvds, unless someone didn't think of it earlier and realized that instead of spending more money on something they don't care about, to put on what they had for season 4 on the discs for four, and release new ones online for other episode..anyways just thought i'd pass that along..

makes me wonder what other stuff that was released online for shows for whatever purpose (any show) that was ported over to DVDs ..

if paramount can do it for trek, I see no reason it can't be on the BSG dvds ..

Yeah, I read that somewhere about the Enterprise DVDs. Paramount has always struck me as "get extra DVD content as cheap as possible" anyway.

Didn't know about this one, I'll check it out. I'm a podcast junkie now... I listen to a lot of the NPR & KCRW stuff as well as some of the independently produced things like Cinecast & Diggnation

Although not directly TV show related, this is something that will be of interest to the fans of The Office and Extras:

Starting Monday December 5 2005: Ricky Gervais on Guardian Unlimited, an exclusive series of podcasts that will tackle, finally, the big questions.

Such as: "Jellyfish - do we need them"? And: "Why do you never see an old bloke eating a Twix"?

The brand-new series of 30-minute audio programmes will see Gervais joined by writing partner Stephen Merchant and the man Gervais calls "the funniest man alive", Karl Pilkington. "The trouble is," adds Gervais, "he doesn't know he's being funny".

"I want to do a radio show where I can say I want, when I want, for as long as I want and that's free for anybody who can be bothered to listen, anywhere in the world," Gervais says. "We didn't want it to just be the best bits of a radio programme you'd missed so this is a show that is straight-to-podcast.

"I suppose we're trying to create an exclusive club. We'd prefer this to be a few people's favourite show than a huge samey ineffectual broadcast."

Come back to this page on Monday December 5 to find out how to download the podcast to your PC or MP3 player, and make sure you get all 12 episodes, which will be made available only from Guardian Unlimited every Monday
Here's the link: http://www.guardian.co.uk/rickygervais

Wow the Gervais podcast is easily the best one currently available. I laughed non stop. Their producer is just comedy gold waiting to be mined.

I have quite a few podcasts I listen to, but this one has easily become my favorite.

I'm just now noticing this thread, thanks for all the info! I'm especially interested in the Ricky Gervais one, but I don't see the first two episodes. Sadly, the website doesn't seem to have them anymore, either. If anyone can help me track them down I'd sure appreciate it!

added the new ones that i got lazy on .. deleted the individual links to invidual podcasts, as most of us who will listen to these have subscribed to cast, and don't really come here for a reminder to download ..so now we have just a link to most of them for the podcast page (which sometimes has direct links to each episode) and the rss feed for the podcast itself..

if anyone has anymore tv podcast/commentary ones or tv-related please post em..
