Looks to be a good way to pick up some Criterion titles.

3 of the $19.57 Criterions plus 1 of the $25.97 Criterions, and then using the coupon comes out about 37 cents less than buying the exact same titles from DDD via their 20% off sale.

Thanks hytec!

Thanks i picked up some criterions

I got the email as well and ordered the following in-stock Criterions:

Divorce, Italian Style
Jules et Jim
Kagemusha
Night and Fog

By the by, I did try to sneak in a preorder (Heaven Can Wait instead of Night and Fog) but it correctly disqualified the coupon until I switched back to the published disc.

Good deal. I just wait until Tuesday and then order:

Rescue Me S1
Dragnet ('67) S1
Coupling S4 - been waiting for the DDD sale to order this, but this works out better since it is cheapest at Planet.

Can DVDPlanet's coupons be used more than once?

I'm debating between ordering a couple of standard criterions or ordering the John Cassavettes collection, which is $81.00.

Yes, you can in this case. I have placed three orders so far.

Boy, I sure wish I already owned every DVD available that I wanted!

Meanwhile, there are plenty of things to tempt me, so thanks to the OP for posting this.

Sales tax here in CA = no sale. It's the only reason why I will not order from DVD Planet.

if the coupon's for $10 off 80, then isn't in possible to round up 80 bucks worth of stuff to get the discount, then add the preorders? (i think they did the same thing last year, as dvdplanet almost never has coupons. I think I used it to get the Renoir boxset.)

It's a ripoff if you're not making a big order, but if there are preorders this summer that planet has a good price for, it may be worth trying. And another poster said you can use it multiple times, so I might give it a shot if I can find enough titles that are low enough at planet to not wait for the DDD sale.

(Regardless, any savings will be matched by the atrocious shipping methods for both companies)

I'll agree that dvdplanet's expedited shipping is pretty steep ($1.99 + $0.99 for each additional item). That can rack up to a rather large shipping charge pretty quick. But with DDD only charging $4.95 total for expedited shipping, I don't think that's steep at all.

Lame. They upped the price on Rescue Me today.

Am I blind? How can you tell if something is "in stock"?

I see the legend with the little colored dots, but I don't see where those dots are on the disc listing themselves. I have a $86 order in my cart (all released discs) but it is not accepting the coupon. I assume one of my titles in out of stock, but I don't know which one.

the color dots next to the title signify if it's in stock or a pre-order or whatever. there's a key at the bottom somewhere

Here's what I'm saying... I've added these to my cart:

Forgotten Films Of Roscoe Fatty Arbuckle
Suds
The Sword Of Doom (Criterion)
The War Of The Worlds (Goldhil)

Total of $86.38. When I add the coupon it says "Coupon not applicable to this order, not all order constraints have been met. To checkout remove coupon or meet coupon constraints."

None of these titles have ANY dots next to them. I have no clue what the issue is.

I tried your order out and it seemed to work fine for me. The coupon takes and it shows a total of $76.38. Don't know what to tell you, maybe try clearing cookies, etc. Hope it works out for you.

Interesting. I was going to pick up the John Cassavetes set then decided to price-match at DDD with a potential 20% off sale and DVD Planet turned out to be cheaper. Hmm...

funny thing is people are getting so impatient with DDD, they are running off to spend their money elsewhere. I have to admit I placed an order with fye.com (mostly on preorders), but I would have spent some of that money at DDD.

Agreed. I ended up spending about $200 at B&N this week at their B2G1 sale. Granted, the prices ended up being comparable to the DDD sale, but these are titles I already had in my wishlist waiting for the sale. My impatience shows through.

If anybody placed an order for this coupon and is from Australia, I received your order by mistake, and sent it back. So be patient.
