Cheap Banana Clamps.......
Hello....
I am looking to buy 8 non-crimp banana clamps for my 6.1 receiver. I prefer the wrap around, or the screw together type -- this way I can reuse it.... However, the cheapest place I thought i could find these was radio shack, but they wanted $8 for 1 (one) set. I thought that was crazy (and they were radio shack brand to boot!).... Any suggestions? Meijer, Home Depot? I suppose somewhere online would work too...
Thanks,
Matt

Digikey has all sorts of electronic components. Here is one page of banana jacks from their catalog:

I've not used these, but they look nice. I'll probably go pick some up soon since i'll have to set my reciever up again soon.

Big Worms,
Yea, those may be the ticket -- gold plated, and reuseable. And cheap too! I need 6 pair total, so 2 packages will do me! How much was shipping? Are they easy to connect -- fit snug?
I can't exactly tell from the pic, but these say that they have the screw-connection -- that is, you put the wire in, and then screw a screw into it for contact -- correct?
Thanks,
Matt

KillerQ,
One thing to keep in mind with the ones I bought is that it says 4pck but that really means 2 pairs. I really hate the way they word it. Shipping is not the best prices, but one thing with that place is that they require a minimum of $20 order. You can try this place and see what their shipping is. They sell the same ones.

They are screw on. The outer sleeve on screws from the assembly, then their are 2 small screws, one close to the top and another one close to the bottom opposite side. You just strip your cable and slip it in and then tighten the screws. Screw back the outer jacket and you have a nice clean connection. They are actually very good and solid. I was extremely impressed with them for the prices. I used 12 guage cable and they work fine.

Yeah, I did not realize you need to few. I had a big order last time with some other things so shipping was actually cheap then. Did you look at the second place?

I'd probably do something like this:

I just got some freebies from my bro-in-law. They are similar to these, nice and convenient. Assuming your equipment can take the dual plugs, but most can.
