They are owned by the same company. Plus the rebate is advertised on each item page, so we should be fine.

UPC code

The rebate form says you need the ORIGINAL upc code. Does that mean I have to cut it off the box? Or do they accept the little "proof of purchase" tabs? Do all of these DVDs HAVE the proof of purchase tabs?

Do they really want the actual UPC code cut from the package or will they accept a copy? Even for 1.99, I am not sure I want to cut the code out.

As much it's cheap it is, it's not worth buying them since the special editions will come out

I remember reading about the SE coming out but can't seem to find the info again. Do you remember a release date being stated???

Those are pretty crappy movies - I have no interest in getting SE's. But at $2 a pop for my son who's 4, he should enjoy them (although they're a bit violent - I might wait a few years to let him see it).

I STILL don't want to cut up the box though - that would be like fingernails on a blackboard for me!

I bought Gilmore Girls s3 recently and they had the same "original UPC" requirement - but the DVD set came with those little "proof of purchase" tabs, so I sent a copy of the UPC along with the original tab and I'm hoping for the best. That's why I asked if the Batman DVDs have those tabs.

Yes, you have to send in the original UPC. I bought ROTK:EE and they wouldn't process the rebate from sending in the sticker on top or the back sheet (that listed extras) - they wanted me to cut it out from the bottom of the blue slipcover.

Man that sucks. And you KNOW they're doing it just b/c they know many people won't want to ruin their DVD sets. That's really just cheap anti0consumer crap.

With Batman Begins being released this summer I'm guessing the Special editions would be released when the Batman Begins DVD streets, probably between Thanksgiving and Christmas. I've been waiting on purchasing Burton's Batman flicks for several years now.

I'm not certain but most WB cases have the preforrated UPC tabs inside the case.

Violent? If you watch the original again, it's like watching an old man fight - each battle is about one or two punches/kicks.

Well isn't punching and kicking, by definition, violence?

I've heard some people in the past made a high quality scan of the UPC and they accepted it. I may try it.

I have never had to do it, but If done correctly I bet it would work. Tape it down to something so they can't actually inspect it closely and only see it through the tape. Probably sounds illegal but you did buy the damn movie......so I don't see a problem with it.

Perhaps the first (and best) of them (which isn't available on the sale - OOS) - but I think the later ones - as they get worse in quality, the violence level goes up.

Appreciate the heads up on these. Picked up a one of each except Batman & Robin. Too bad about having to cut up the packaging.

it sucks you have to cut the UPC but it makes sense.. they don't want people returning it to the store or exchanging it.

On the rebate form, it says "Only one rebate submission per envelope" can I use one rebate form for all 4 batman dvd or do I have to send 4 separate form for each dvd in 4 envelopes ?

Thank you so much especially to Kal Varnsen, I bought 4 Batman dvd for $28.80 after tax and before rebate.
