Looks like I will be at Border's 1x per day for a while. I wonder if you can use this for the Harry Potter pre-sale and get 40% off plus 25% off.

I took the 25% off coupon to Borders planning to use it on Three's Company Season 4 for $39.99 to make it $29.99. Normally I'd buy it from DDD for $23.99 delivered, but I'm trying to use up Borders gift cards.

When they finally found where it was hidden, it was marked to $29.99 already (a special blue tag) so they told me I couldn't combine the 25% off coupon because it said "off the regular price". So even when I had a 25% off coupon, I ended up not using it. The other few titles I wanted were all out of stock (because I mainly buy old movies and most stores concentrate on the more recent movies).

But I'm glad to see these coupons posted. If my tastes weren't so limited or my store had better inventory, I might be able to use coupons more often.

Some of Borders $14.99 DVDs discount to decent savings: Orgazmo, Frazetta: Painting With Fire. We should start a list.

I took a trip to my local Border's B&M with a list of 7 titles I was willing to buy if the price was favorable.
  • The selection was more limited than I expected...they only had 2 of the 7 titles I was interested in. (Gilligan's Island Season 2, Babylon 5 seasons 4 or 5, Blackadder Complete Set, Battlestar Galactica, Dark Angel Season 2, 24 Season 2)
  • Without the discount coupon the normal prices at the B&M are almost all MSRP
  • Border's own internet presence(teamed with Amazon) routinely has prices that are lower by 25% or more than the prices in the B&M....with free shipping for orders over $25 and no sales tax in most states.

From what I saw, buying from the B&M is only good for quick-fix purchases. Your money stretches further ordering from the Border's internet store(or from other stores that have lower prices).

Too bad. I went to their B&M ready to spend money.

Another "Thanks" to the OP for the coupon. I used it yesterday to pick up Shaolin Soccer for $11.24.

You should have done a quick search at Bordersstores.com, which is usually pretty accurate in regards to the in-stock selection at a particular store.

Most of us who use these coupons with regularity, know where the deals generally are and aren't. TV show box-sets are rarely priced competitively. Warner Brothers catalogue, MGM World Films and HVE titles are a great bargain when combined with a coupon.

I believe when you shop at Borders.com, you are actually shopping at Amazon.
