Could someone explain this for me: the price drops are for the MSRP and stores in turn adjust their pricing, correct?

So are the posters above who bought them cheaper, before the drop, were they used or on sale or something, or do stores mark down independently?

In my case, I believe that Wal*Mart was clearing out their inventories nationwide and my store marked this set down $2 less than they were in other Wal*Marts.

This is completely sealed and new copy.

Has anyone bought the "Best of 1st Season MTM" in the $5.50 bin? On the front it says there's a $10 off 1st season coupon. I'd like to know if the coupon has expired - it makes no mention of an expiration date on the outside. If it isn't expired, you could buy the $5.50 title and use the coupon on the 1st season box set at Walmart to reduce the price to $4.44, for a total cost of $9.99!

From the thread I listed above and credit goes to jiffy97:

I've seen the threads here about Wal-Mart taking their turn selling Season 1 sets for $14.99. It turns out they also have the Mary Tyler Moore and the Buffy "Starter Set" in the $5.50 bin. The "Starter Set" has a coupon for $10 off Season 1. Sales receipt must be dated between 3/22/05 and 12/31/05. Offer expires on 12/31/05.

It looks like people are getting 4-5 dollars on ebay for the "Starter Set"

Math:
14.99 for Season 1
5.50 for Starter Set
equals 20.49
minus 10 coupon
equals 10.49
minus 4 for Starter Set on ebay
equals 6.49 for The Mary Tyler Moore or Buffy Season 1 Complete set!!! Or $10.49 if you don't want to deal with ebay. Still not to bad.

My first bargain listed here. Hope you guys like it.
