Nintendo DS--Will it play IMPORT games?

I was just wondering if these were coded anyway to prevent Japanese DS games from playing US, DS players.

DS can play both American and Japanese games.

Yeah, I'm thinking of picking up Advance Wars DS from overseas, since we have to wait several extra months before it'll be released stateside.

I've just learned the European version of Mr. Driller has the stuff removed from the US version put back in.
