Gargoyles Season 2 News - December 6, 2005

Found this over at TVShowsOnDVD, good news to hear:

Gargoyles - Season 2 is in the works
Posted by Gord Lacey
5/13/2005

It's not a surprise that Disney would be planning the second season of Gargoyles, but it's good to know the set is being worked on. ToonZone.net reported on a posting made by Chad Kultgen (from 3oh!5 Creative) in the Station 8 Comment Room which asked for fans in the LA area for a possible featurette. The proposed featurette will focus on fans, and their love for the show. If you live in the LA area, or are willing to travel to LA, Chad would like to talk to you. Just drop him an email at [email protected] and let him know if you're interested in taking part (mention that you read the news here).

We don't have any more information about the set, but it's possible we could see another December release, though that's purely speculation on our part.

Good. I have been holding off buying the first season until we had some word on the release of the second season.

I bought the first season regardless of any future release. The series was so good I'm just happy to have what I could on DVD. That they are working on season 2 is very welcome news.

The question is how will they release Season 2? In parts or as a whole? The second season had 52 episodes, so two releases of 26 episodes each would probably catch it.

One of the UD Forum's resident Gargoyles experts, "Siren", has passed along some information from show creator Greg Weisman on the '90s animated series' upcoming Season 2, Volume 1 DVD, which has been set for December 6, 2005. As previously mentioned, the 3-disc set will hold the first 26 episodes of the TV cartoon's second season (#'s 14-39). Bonus features will include audio commentaries on the four-part arc "City of Stone", episode introductions by Weisman, and featurette "The Gathering of the Cast and Crew."

“Gargoyles” is the story of the fantastic, ancient creatures that once guarded a medieval Scottish

GARGOYLES is the animated story of a group of fantastic superbeings who protect mankind from
danger. Their story begins in medieval times, when Gargoyles were stone statues by day, but were
transformed at sundown into fearsome, living creatures. GARGOYLES are a clan of winged beings,
honorable creatures who, in a violent and brutal age, protected a Scottish castle from Viking assaults,
until they were betrayed by a sorcerer’s spell. They were frozen in stone through night and day, and
passed through the centuries.

When a wealthy businessman purchases the Gargoyles’ ancient Scottish castle and rebuilds it high
above the clouds atop his corporate headquarters in present day New York City, the spell is broken.
The Gargoyles sleep in stone by day, but at sundown awaken to become majestic heroes of the night,
defending the city from modern day menaces. The series carries positive moral messages about
friendship, teamwork and doing good.
