I need help identifying an older hiphop song.

Here are some of the lyrics that I remember, but it may not be verbatim:

" . . . until dope makes you treat another person like a puppet . . . money, I know you love it, but let me tell you one thing, I'm not your puppet . . . ."

Can anybody ID this? Thanks in advance.

He came out with another joint a few years later called "I got it like that" which I liked too.
