Looking for a good low cost audio system for my TV and DVD player.
Looking for good solid system thats not too much.
Any recommendations?
I'm not looking for a system that doesn’t have a DVD player as I already have one.
I need to upgrade my sound as my TV has pretty wimpy sound.
Thanks

How much is too much?

That would mean that you are looking for a system with a DVD player, even though you already have one.

My system kicks ass. (low WAF though ;)) 7 Klipsch speakers, SV sub and Onkyo receiver. Is $4575 MSRP too much? I paid much less. My bro-in-laws system MSRP is 5 digits for preamp/amp/speakers. He probably paid as much as I did (bastard). Is that too much?
Ambiguity is silly.

When you say you want it for your TV and DVD player, does this mean you already have a HT Receiver or did you want to hook these speakers directly to your TV? And if you already have a receiver, which one?

Do you have to go to a special school for that? I learned to make collages in kindergarten. :sarcasm:
So you're looking for a Home Theater in a Box (HTIB) -- receiver and speakers?
There's a couple of threads on that already. Do a search.
One popular choice in this price range is the Onkyo HT-S770; refurbs are out there for $250 or so. Watch out for high shipping charges.

Yes HTIB is probally along the lines of what I'm looking for.

Oh, yea, the Onkyo is pretty much the ONLY one of choice for HTIB. So I have heard.
Tho you could get a refurbished Onkyo 502 and maybe pick up some dicountinued speakers for not much more. Would take more work and patience.
