How much do she thinks Wanda Sykes gets paid?
Watching the Daily Show and Wanda Sykes is in that new movie "Monster in Law " with Jane Fonda & JLo... Just curious, how much you think Wanda gets paid for her role? She is a bit of a name in comedy.. Is she getting paid hundreds of thousands or is it 1 or 2 mil?... or is it all based on a % of sales

she's got a bit of a name but there's no way her take is over $1 million for one month of work. frankly, i'd be surprised if it was over $250,000. this of course is all specualtion on my part.

I think you ought to look into hooking up with Oprah instead, cuz she's fuckin loaded. Wanda probably has a nice house and would take you out and pay for a nice dinner and whatever, but with Oprah you would get parting gifts and cars and stuff.

I once heard Janeane Garofalo talk about how people were always assuming that she was a millionaire many times over because she had been in so many movies, when the truth was she had never made more than a few hundred thousand dollars for anything.
Now, several hundred grand is nothing to sneeze at, but when people hear about Tom Cruise and Julia Roberts making $25 million a picture, you start to think everybody with a line in the film must be making a fortune.
To make millions, you have to be The Movie Star, the face on the poster, the name that brings in the fans... after that everyone else in the movie is just a glorified extra.
Someone like Wanda Sykes, who's in a major supporting role and who has a certain amount of recognizability is getting paid very well --probably the very low six figures. But when the contracts are being signed, she's certainly not in any position to demand anything. She's playing the sassy black woman role, and it's not as if that would be difficult to cast.

I'd say that time has shown that she lacks the comedic versatility to transition to real stardom but she could still have a very nice supporting role career ahead of her in comedic films.

She is so fucking agrivating... Anything she makes is too much. Everytime I see her in a movie I can picture the producers in the office...
Producer 1: "Hmmm we need a wacky, comic relief that will say and do anything... And if it could be a black woman, even better!"
Producer 2: "Hey what's Wanda Sykes doing?"
Casting Director: "Nothing?"
Producer 1: "Fine, get her."
Yes Man: "Briliant!"
