Movies that are adapted from a play
Could someone point me in the right direction to find good movies that were adapted from plays such as Closer and Glengarry Glenn Ross.

one's just randomly off the top of my head (and as Groucho noted there are alot of plays, to many to mention)
- The Bad Seed
- A Few Good Men
- Amadeus
- The Shape of Things

Personally, I'd go through the Mamet oeuvre as a start, given the reference to Glengarry Glen Ross.

THE CRUCIBLE...sadly, missing from DVD even to this day...
Oh, and a buttload of Shakespeare...my personal favorite being the version of HAMLET with Mel Gibson.

Countless musicals, of course, but Damn Yankees stands out because it is one Hollywood musical that is faithful to the Broadway play and that's the secret of its charm. Every routine, every device to milk applause, every false exit is reused in the film to great effect. You actually feel like you're watching it with a roomful of people and you might catch yourself applauding half-way through, standing up at intermission and checking you cloak-room ticket. And it's directed by Stanley Donen and choreographed by Bob Fosse!

Slightly off-topic, but saw an old post about colorized war movies. Do you have any of these on video. I'm looking for colorized versions of objective burma and bataan for my father. you can email me at [email protected] if you have these. Thank you.

On Golden Pond was a decent film though based on a play. If you like Fondas that is.
