Hey all,

As most of you know, I am getting ready to get monster of a TV known as the 65" Mitsubishi WS-65315 RP HDTV. I checked at the local BestBuy here in Detroit, and the salesperson looked in the system and said that that TV is slated to be discontinued by BestBuy in July, and there are 205 units left.

Now, does anyone know how this will work -- I assume a new(er) model will be coming out. Either way, when July rolls around and/or the stock gets real low, will BestBuy put this model on clearance?

Thanks for the input,

Matt!

That explains why the Best Buy here has it marked for Clearance, albeit for the regular price for some strange reason.

Not an answer to your actual question, but I went to ABC Warehouse and got the 55 inch model of this TV. I managed to get it 400 dollars cheaper than either Best Buy or Circuit City, and they threw in shipping for free. Definitely try going there and see if you can haggle...

Dave,

Thanks for the info -- However, it's the $1,000 in BestBuy gift cards that are causing me to stay with BB (which, in my entire life I NEVER thought having a ton of gift cards for BB would pose a problem -- haha)

I have had that same problem before. In fact I have done that a couple of times, made big purchases and had to fork over the cashier like 20 of those things at once. It was quite humrous. I have since learned to stop asking for gift cards from Best Buy. It sucks being stuck with a store when you know that you can do better at other places.

I bought this TV back when it first came out last August and have loved it ever since. July sounds like the month that Mitsubishi discontinues a model for the newer ones to come out in August

The Plot thickens....

I just got a notice in the mail saying that my BestBuy rewardzone membership was renewed for free -- and that i get double points on anything i buy in the next 20 days. This could get hairy -- i have $200 in reward zone certs that have been issued back on may 5th. that means they will arrive here in the next 2-4 weeks. So, if i play my cards right, i will use my gift cards, use my reward certs, and get double the points (which would be another $150 in certs). Now, if i can just get a 10% off coupon, and have all of this happen in the next 2 1/2 weeks, the TV is MINE!

Later,

Matt

Hey all,

What are some of the prices you have found (in actual stores) around town for the Mitsubishi WS-65315? I am curious how the price varies across the nation, and what stores have what prices...

**To anyone that works in the TV department at Bestbuy, what is the "at cost" price that BestBuy gets the WS-65315 for, before any markup?

One more -- under BB ext. warr., i know that gun allignment and cleaning is listed as covered -- but i heard that they will refuse to come out and do any of that type of maintenance....is this true? Has anyone had BB come and allign or clean their RPTV?

Thanks,

Matt

I would suggest acting like you are on the fence whether to buy this one or wait for the inevitable newer model that should be coming out soon.

I would never have thought that BB prices on ANYTHING would be negotiable. If it is true then i wish i had known about it 2 nights ago when i bought my Mits.
