if you wanna renew. It's $9.95 per year or for me I renewed for 2 years at $15.95.

If you spend at least $300 a year at Best Buy, this card is a great deal. In a lil over a year, I've racked up $115 in Rewards Certificates so far.

I doubt it. The option to renew your account only appears when your membership is within 3 months of expiration.

Plus this deal is only for NEW memberships.

Why people complain about the $10 fee is beyond me. If you don't spend alot there, then it doesn't matter if it was free or not since you won't earn certificates. If you do, then the $10 will more then be paid for with certificates. I have earned $355 worth of certificates since I joined in September of 2003.

Just sign up a new one. Bear in mind that they probably won't allow you to carry forward any point balance from your old account though.

Yeah, like it would cost them too much to send a replacement card... not to mention that my original card is made of the shoddiest material. Are the new cards any better? More like a gift card?

I might create a second account and then buy just enough on my old one to get my last certs. I almost did it when I bought my PSP, since they had some deal where you can get a free RZ card when spending more than 300 bucks back then...

I was able to use the coupon to renew my current membership with no problem (I don't know if I was within 3 months of expiration). Theres nothing on the coupon where it says for new memberships only.

Thanks for the link. Worked fine for me. I just brought the coupon up to register with the reward zone packet, and I was in and out in a couple of minutes. I didn't need to go to the service desk to redeem.

All you have to do is give your phone number at the register instead of your card, it's not that big of a deal. My barcode is so faded now it's hard to scan, so I just give them my number now.
It works if the wife goes and gets something too, she doesn't need the card.

i got a coupon in my email for a free CD up to 11.99 if you join reward zone for 9.99. if you wanna buy a CD anyway, it might make more sense to get the card for free with this coupon and then just buy your CD though, then youll be $10 on your way to your first reward. on the other hand you can save $2 if your CD is $11.99.

That is such a pain in the ass! I threw mine away because I let my account expire because I didnt want to pay the renewal fee. About a month later, they sent me a notice that they renewed me for free.

Worked for me. Use printed copy of the coupon with no problems. I'm an existing member and was signed up until July of this year. I just checked www.MyRewardZone.com and it says my membership is valid until 7/31/2006. Thanks a bunch to original poster! :thumbsup:

Apparently, people are able to use the coupon to extend existing membership that expires in July. Btw, how do people use the coupon to extend it? Scan your existing membership card, ask the cashier to renew it and then use the coupon?

Just came back from my local BB. I purchased the reward zone and the lady scanned the coupon with no problems. I also purchased Half-Baked and Soul Plane. After the purchase, I went to the CS desk to PM CC's ad for $9.99.

I asked about the extra 10% and the lady at the desk tried to tell me that their policy is that I get the 10% only if I purchased it from another store and then I can go to their store to get the difference + 10%. I said, "Are you sure? That's not what it says here", pointing to the price guarantee policy. She left to "check with a manager" and came back after a while and just rang up the discount without saying she's wrong or apologizing or anything.

For those of you who ever PM, you should watch out for that 10% they say they'll give you. it's not automatic and even if you ask for it, they try and give you some lame excuse that contradicts their own printed policy. This isn't the first time they've tried to weasle out of it so that's why I made sure I asked about it.

Yes mine was suppose to expire on 7/31/2005. After using coupon on Tuesday, my membership now runs until 7/31/2006.

Well, they send you the card... and the reward zone certificates too! (unless you chose to get them by email, but that seems like a crapshoot).

Worked just fine. The coupon did say only one free membership per household. I don't know how they track it though.

The card that came in the package is the real and final card. You won't get another one from BB, even if you damage or lose your original one.

If you misplace your card, you will have to ask the cashier everytime to look you up in the system using your phone number. The only way to get another card is to sign up a new membership, and ditch the old one after you acrue enough points for a reward cert.

Sorry for the confusion... Forgot that you pick up the card when you purchase it. But they will use whatever phone number you provided, so if you ever lose your card you have to remember the bogus PN you gave. Also, various BB mailing come to the address.

it takes a while. just make sure the transaction id is correct. you will be credited. if not call their customer service and they will assist you.

yeah, it can take up to weeks to post to your online account and takes 30-45 days for it to be credited to your account.

Mine doesn't expire until 2007 and I tried to use the coupon but it wouldn't work cuz it won't work unless you get that popup to renew your membership which pops up when your membership is gonna expire within 3 months or less.
