Need Advice for Satellite/Cable providers!
As you all know, voom is getting cancelled on the 30th, and unfortunately i have voom . I wanted to know if Directv is the best way to go for high-def.. and wondering what packages they offer with high-definition content. My tv has a tuner built in already. I wanted to get the basic satellite service also with mtv, g4, etc... But mainly want g4 and mtv with the HD content as well + Local channels in HD. I want to spend around 60 a month. 65 max. Any suggestions?

It'll vary depending on your provider, but of my options, cable was the way to go.
I got a 150GB HD-DVR, two tuner, free digital/hd networks, for the cost of the 'digital tier' of cable which includes a box rental, plus the additional 6/mo for the DVR functionality. that is, no additional charge for going HD. With satellite, IIRC, I'd have to buy a HD receiver, and a receiver for the local networks. And I don't know if there's a satellite HD/DVR yet, if there is, it might be more expensive.
Plus, coming from Voom, when you call for cable, tell them you're a satellite customer and they'll probably have a deal for you.
YMMV depending on your provider, but for me, cable was a much easier and cheaper way to go HD.
