Looking for a Free Birthday Meal

Anyone know of a restaurant in the Tampa Bay area of Florida that servers a free meal on ones birthday? What can I say, I'm just trying to be frugal here..

You're in luck. Todai Japanese Buffet (http://www.todai.com/Locations/florida.htm) has a branch in Tampa. They give you a free meal on your birthday. Otherwise it's like $25 or $30 to eat there.

If you're a meat eater, drive down to Miami, all my closest friends like going to 'Porcao' on their birthday, it's a really swanky all you can eat place, like $40 a plate.

I can't think of any places off the top of my head, but I know many times you have to register pretty far in-advance; you can't show up. If I'm wrong, though, cool.

Just a word of warning about Todai:
At least in Southern California, they do give you a free meal, but it's a coupon good for a free meal when you come back. So you still have to pay for the first meal...

Not sure if it's the same everywhere, but it seems like a smart thing for them to do...

Oh, and I'm not sure if this was mentioned, but it's primarily sushi. They have other stuff, but the big draw is the sushi. (I do find it amusing that they have to put up signs for people to not just take the raw fish and throw away the rice...)

The Todai restaurant in Portland, Oregon gives you a free meal on the day of your birthday and no coupon. They check you I.D. to verify if its your birthday. So I guess it depends which location you go to.
