for my question. My DVD clean/repair kit is out of the repair stuff and the kit I have doesn't seem to be in production anymore. Current kits don't seem to have repair capability anymore.
I rent many DVDs from Netflix. Do I need a kit with repair capabilities? Or is cleaning good enough?
TIA

Are you trying to repair scratches, remove sticky residue, or just clean regular surface debris like dust, fingerprints, etc.?

Clean regular surface debris and sometimes repair scratches.

Isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol is your best bet then. That's actually what the "cleaning fluid" in most DVD/CD cleaning sets is. It won't do a thing for scratches (as opposed to surface scuffs), however. You'll need one of those poxy repair kits for that. I've heard some people say that toothpaste works well for repairing scratches too, but I've never actually tried it myself.
