Hi. I have started collecting original double-sided movie posters. I know there is a lot of reproductions and reprints out there. I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to tell if a poster is an original or a reproduction, just incase the seller is not honest? Thanks for any info.

Welcome to the modern world of Movie Poster collecting. It's not quite as easy as it used to be.
Reproduction posters in the past were really easy to notice. In the bottom left corner on the border was the date of release with a large "R" placed in front of the date. This made it so easy.
Now, it's a nightmare to collect to posters. Most or at least half of the stuff on E-Bay is reproductions. Be very careful because many times it is not stated. Sometimes the dealer has no idea that it's not an original. They're not collectors.

I order from them all the time and they state right up front if it's a reprint or not.
My best advice is to order posters as early as you can. They seem to go into reprint much faster these days.
I know this doesn't really answer your question, but in all honesty it's very hard to tell the repros from the originals anymore.
The colors on repros are for the most part not as vibrant. And sometimes they are printed on thinner paper. And sometimes they're on smaller sized poster stock paper. All these tips may do you no good if you don't have an original to compare them to though.

Yes, Dan is good people. If you have a specific poster that you have a question about, shoot him an email. You could also send him a poster to evaluate.

Thanks. I just purchased a few Batman Begins posters and even though the sellers stated "Original, Not Re-prints" I just wanted to make sure for myself even though htey have good feedback.

I also have the 2002 recalled Spider-Man movie poster and want to check that also.
