KASABIAN (don't they sort of sound like the Stone Roses?)

Even though their sound has been compared and derived of the Stone Roses (and a little bit dancier), I have been quite enjoying their album.

The recent tour with The Music was well received, the Post even pointed out they put on a vastly better set than The Music's

Here is the extensive tour dates for them here in the States:

~

Wed 05/04/05 Denver, CO Bluebird Theater

Thu 05/12/05 Washington, DC 9:30 Club

Fri 05/13/05 Philadelphia, PA Theatre Of Living Arts

Sat 05/14/05 Boston, MA Paradise Rock Club

Mon 05/16/05 New York, NY Bowery Ballroom

Tue 05/17/05 New York, NY Bowery Ballroom

Wed 05/18/05 Montreal, QC Cabaret Music Hall

Fri 05/20/05 Toronto, ON Phoenix Concert Theatre

"Y101 Birthday Bash"

Sun 05/22/05 Richmond, VA Shockoe Bottom

~

Tue 05/24/05 Chicago, IL Double Door

Wed 05/25/05 Minneapolis, MN Fine Line Music Cafe

I liked their album too, although I think there's a little too much filler. Two instrumentals (IIRC) and a reprise of Reason is Treason is pretty weak.

I wanted to see them in Chicago, but I'm too old to be going out on Tuesday nights.

I saw them open for The Music at the Metro. They put on a better show than The Music, but the sound board guy at the Metro needs to be maimed and tortured for doing such a horrendous job that night.

THAT's the band. I have an annoying habit where I don't write down the music I want to get. This proves to be an especially grating hassle when I am at a record store and I don't know what I want.

Kasabian... Kasabian...

My impression of their 9:30 Club show (last night): I liked their energy and the song's 'live' were fantastic. Now if they didn't have to say "Thank you, Washington" after every song. Surprisingly, the sounded less like the Stone Roses live and a tad more like Primal Scream, but a little more tuneful than the latter. All in all, a great show.

Kasabian

Did they name their band after Linda Kasabian, of Charles Manson fame?

Check out Primal Scream.

They wrote a couple of Kasabian's songs for em. Pay-off job though.
