DVD Case Information

hi, i am doing a project in dvd case. i want to talk to the class about why there are different type of dvd case like Snappers, Keepcases, digipack, gigipacks and those extra outsider box that costco use to store their dvd in. would anyone got any information on why some company like wb chose to use snappers and not use something like keepcasese until now. would u guy happened to know the advantage and disadvantage of each type of dvd case. any info on dvd case that u guys/gals know would be a great help to me. any link to information on dvd casing would be good. i would need information like how does the dvd case protect against damage to the dvd? how does it Assistance in marketing the dvd? and what are the cost to make the dvd case and ship it to retail store. thank you very much for any help u guy/gal provide.

I'm not sure, but I believe warner owns the patent on snappers and that is why they continue to use them.

Warner owns or partly owns Ivy Hill Corp., which created the snapper.

For the other detailed information you're looking for, you'll probably have to ask someone in the industry. Maybe Google "Amaray" or one of the other manufacturers and try to contact them. Ivy Hill is in New York and can be found on Switchboard.com.

it is for a marketing class. our project is to get information on the marketing view on dvd package design. thanks for the information so far. i will try to call the company today.
