Just a heads up for anyone looking for the OOP 2-disc editions of Meet Joe Black, Notting Hill, or American Pie. FYE must've had some left in their warehouses, as I saw large quantities of all three on sale for for $9.99 (normally $11.99, which is pretty damn good anyway!)

I've also seen all Ultimate Editions at "The Book Warehouse" in Premium Outlet Malls for $9.99. They also had Dracula from Classic Monster collection for $5.99. A bunch of other titles for $9.99 and $5.99. A bunch of bi-lingual Universal titles also.

In their respective sections (drama, comedy). The single-disc versions were not marked on sale, though, so it's definitely an intentional thing, and not just a fluke that they had the ultimate editions.

I went to my local FYE and they did have Meet Joe Black for $9.99, and I did buy it. I also have a bit of information for all of you:

-At my store, it was not in a special section on a rack of anything. Meet Joe Black was simply on the shelf, without any markings letting you know it was on sale. It just had a $9.99 sticker on it.

-If you think you can just call the store to ask them if they have it, think again. Before I went to my local store I called and asked if they had the Ultimate Edition of Meet Joe Black, and they said no and that they only had the normal version. That was a letdown but I decided to call the store where the OP fist saw these listed. Since I knew for sure that the Plattsburgh, NY FYE had them in stock, I called them and asked what they were listed as in the FYE computers. When they look up the title in the computer, even if they have the Ultimate Edition in stock, it does NOT say "Ultimate Edition" in their computer system.

After learning that, I went ahead and drove to my local FYE, and sure enough they had the UE in stock. I took it up and he asked if I was the guy that called, I said yes, and he said that he honestly looked it up and that it wasn't in their system. I said that it just didn't show up as UE in the computer, and he apologized over and over.

Wow, that was a mouthfull. I'll try to put it in simple terms:

-They are, at least at my local FYE, on the shelf and not in any special place.
-Don't call thinking they will tell you if they have what you want by just looking at the computer. IF you call, have them to go and actually get the DVD and look at it. Their computers do not say if it's the normal edition or the UE.

Yes it was in Anderson, but I didn't notice if they had another one or not. I was so excited to see the one I bought that I just grabbed it and took off. I didn't notice another one, but I wouldn't take my word on that. I'd call them though and ask them to check the shelf for you, or if you are in town just stop by the mall. I'm sorry I don't know for sure, and I didn't even check on the other ones.

The WalMart I went to and bought the $4.88 DVDs was the one next to Sams Club, and they had all of the ones listed.

yeah, no security stickers or title sticker on the top either. I looked at my American Pie UE from Columbia House that's still sealed and it has security sticker and the title sticker.

Neways, I was able to pick up the last copy of the Notting Hill UE and a copy of the Meet Joe Black UE at the FYE in midtown Manhattan.

if ppl can't find American Pie UE, you can still get it Columbia House. I think that it's still a phone enrollment but even if it's not, you can use it as a fulfillment.

While I'm glad that more people have been able to pick up copies of a great movie in Meet Joe Black, I guess this development spells bad news for my new sealed "investment" copy of the MJB UE that I've been holding on to for nearly three years. For those not totally familiar with the KOP mall, the first two are in the main mall, first and second floors respectively. The other FYE is across at the other part of the mall where Borders and The Cheesecake Factory are (FYE is on the second floor).

Since this thread started, if you have checked your local FYE and they did not have these in stock, don't worry just yet. I have been back to my local FYE two times since I was first there, and every time I go back they have all of these ultimate edition DVDs restocked.

If you checked once and didn't have any luck, then check again.

While looking at the copies of Meet Joe Black and Notting Hill that I picked up at the nearest FYE (Cape Cod Mall) in noticed something that may partially explain where all of these NOS copies of long discontinued DVDs came from. Besides the normal chapter insert with the "The Family Man" offer attached both of these discs included an additional insert that quotes a higher shipping rate and has instructions to send to an address in New Brunswick. I wouldn't be surprised if these were unsold Canadian market DVDs. By the way, there were four of MJB UE and five of NH UE left at the store yesterday. This is just a head's-up for anyone who lives nearby, I'm not going back anytime soon.

The American Pie UE I picked up from Value City had a free ticket to American Pie 2 valid only in Canada and the print was in english and french, so I'm guessing your right foggy.
