What director would you love a Box Set from?
I was thinking of this the other day, and finally thought that for me, I would love more than anything a BoxSet of Zhang Yimou. I think an "Ultimate Zhang Yomou Collection" filled with gems, such as Raise the Red Lantern, Shanghai Triad and The Road Home would be great. So what are your thoughts?

Well there's already a small box set for Wes Craven and John Carpenter, as well as tons for Hitchcock, and one for Kubrick. How about a Spielberg? Don't think that's been done yet?

Coen Brothers. They need to release Special Editions of some of their older movies (anamorphic Raising Arizona, special features on others), so what better way to do that than a boxset?

I would like a Ridley Scott one, though given the fact that most of his films are with different studios that might prove difficult.
Another cool one would be Terry Gilliam, but his CC releases are good enough on their own.

A box of Fritz Lang's American films would be cool. Nicolas Ray is pretty deserving of a collection as would be Robert Wise. Has there been any kind of Howard Hawks box set?

DVD Talk Special Edition
I'm a bit of an oddball in that I'm not really a fan of ANY directors. I can't think of any directors that I'd buy a boxed set of (except perhaps, Hitchcock, but they already exist). I just like individual movies.

Quentin Tarantio. Although i have all of his movies seperate, if they would release a "Quentin Collection" with HD transfers of each movie and an accompanying commentary, i would shell out the money once again. An added plus would be the regular Kill Bill volumes and then the proposed 4 hr. NC-17 cut, with a second disc of features on the shooting, story, characters, documentaries, trailers, and a segment on all the films QT homages would be a friggin gold mine.

Lots of good suggestions, especially Terry Gilliam -- multi disc Criterions would be good!
Here are some personal favs that haven't been mentioned:
Park Chan-wook: JSA, Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance, Cut (from Three Extremes), Oldboy, Sympathy for Lady Vengeance (ok, that's cheat since it's not out yet).
Wes Anderson: Bottle Rocket, Rushmore, The Royal Tenenbaums, The Life Aquatic, The Fantastic Mr. Fox (ok, another cheat...).
Tom Tykwer: Deadly Maria, Winter Sleepers, Run Lola Run, The Princess and the Warrior, Heaven, True (short).

Some good sugestions here. But the one that to my mind immediately was Brian DePalma. I'd love to have a nice set of SEs of his films, especially some of those really early, extremely obscure ones. I wonder why no one has released those?
