I'd be all over this if I didn't already have it. I used to worry about overstock bargains since they usually weren't accompanied by product photos. I always had erroneous listing hovering in my mind, but I've purchased at least half a dozen chance items from overstock and they've always sent the right stuff.

The 2 disc is a great release. If it's for 6 something, that's a great bargain; I paid a little over double that at DDD.

There's some more Anchor Bay titles that Overstock has for $6.45. I ordered TO THE DEVIL A DAUGHTER yesterday. They also have CIRCUS OF HORRORS, but the double feature version is only $2 more, so I bought that.

If you go to Anchor bay's website and do a search for Near Dark it will list 2 results one seems to be a 1 disc and the other a 2 disc. I have never seen anything but the 2-disc one in stores and I think thats all Dvdpricesearch has to. Maybe the 1 disc is new.

There IS a one disc version that seems to have been produced only for Blockbuster to rent out --- much to my annoyance when I discovered I was missing out on the extras that I had hoped to be getting access to. I rather doubt this is what Overstock is selling.

Overstock is screwier than that.... if you look at the link that shows the sale item it is out of stock. However if you want to pay a bit more for it (twice plus), it is in stock and ready to sell...

Yeah, I think it has been established that the $6.45 dvd is single disc cheapie and the $13.18 is the deluxe two disc set...There was no sale, the cheapie listed features it didn't have, lots of people ordered it, it sold out.

I've had a like new copy of Near Dark (2 disc SE) for trade for over 2 months with no interest. I assumed everyone had it already or hated the movie. Then a sale like this comes along and people come out of the woodwork. Go figure...

I havent received mine yet, will post when I do, I got a "sent" email, pretty quick. Disheartening to hear bobafett2k got the 1-disker, tho.
They charge 4.95 for ALL returns, so it seems it would be pointless to try to return, plus we would have to pay for shipping. This is not a "great deal", but not really a ripoff for the 1-disk, tho. Was looking forward to the 45 minute or so featurette, really.

I got the 1 disc version yesterday. Chatted with online CSR & explained the problem. They are going to pay for return shipping & will issue store credit (shipping included) for the amount paid. CSR said they couldn't replace the single disc version because the 2 disc version is not in stock (even though website says it is).

got the disc today. didn't bother opening the package as it felt kinda "light" - and in case they hasseled me about it, I could just mark it "return to sender" and drop it in the mailbox.
so I called "the Big O" :rolleyes: and spoke with Courtney. after explaining the situation, she told me they'll send me a label to send the disc back and issue a refund for the $7 or $8 this thing cost...

anyone actually manage to get the 2 disc? Mine is backordered. They did ship road gamaes and circus of horrors/theater of death.
Opened them up and to my horror heard the sound of loose disks on both titiles. :(

Well, I recieved my one discer (darn) a few days ago. My wife called and they basically called her a liar saying we ordered the one disc on purpose and that we got the last one......they will take it back but wont pay for return shipping and will only refund the disc price not the initial shipping either.
I was like, "aw.....hell no!!", got on the phone and discussed it with a different csr and she took out the previous return info from the first "pissy" csr, and said in 2-4 days I get a return label that has shipping included and will refund 7.85 once they process it (10 days or so once recieved). I am not dealing with overstock again after this. Its not so much they made a mistake in shipping, its how they handle it afterwards. Different csr's say different things, YMMV on who you get. The web-listing is gone now as well for the 1discer (at least the 3disc relevant info), fortunately I printed it out and saved to hard drive.
I guess I'll have to see if they follow through on what csr #2 promised.
