I wanted to ask for advice on a matter, so I figured we could just have a thread where people ask questions if they want, instead of 2099824 threads going whenver a question pops up.

Ok, so I'm in a head-to-head league. There are two days left in the week and I'm only winning walks by two. Pretty much every other stat in pitching is decided by now. My opponent only pitched Kerry Wood and Odalis Perez this week, so he's winning hits allowed, losses, and earned runs by a big margin because I pitched Schmidt, Johnson, Oswalt, Rivera and Urbina. My question is, should I bench all my pitchers for the rest of the week to win the walks category? It seems like such a waste to not pitch Johnson and Schmidt this weekend, but if they give up three walks I'll probably lose. If I win the walks category and hitting stays the same or betters for me, I'll win the week. If my hitting worsens, I still may be able to win with the point from winning walks. What would you do? Does any of my babbling even make sense?

It seems like you have nothing to gain by starting Johnson and Schmidt, so why even bother starting them?

I agree, if you're already blowing him away in the other categories then I wouldn't bother starting Johnson and Schmidt

Cool, that's what I thought but I wanted to make sure I wasn't overlooking something. Thanks.

Does a site post the projected starting position players for teams each day?

I've got Jorge Posada and Brandon Inge on my team and I want to know when it's safe to start Inge over Posada.

No. With positional players it is pretty day to day. There are sites out there that will give you the pitching matchups for a few days, but that's about it.

MLB.com is a good place just to check the lineups before a game, since they're usually posted up to an hour or so before the game begins. This can allow you to sit players if they don't happen to be in the lineup that day.

Even then, lineups only have to be officially submitted 1 hour prior to the start of the game, and you have to finalize (most) fantasy lineups 15 minutes prior to the start of the game. Not much time for wiggle room there.

Yeah, but if you're a loser like me, you have days where you sit around before the games so you can make those last minute moves.
