A conservative activist who criticizes what he calls the leftist domination of college campuses was struck with a pie Wednesday night at Butler University.
David Horowitz, president of the Center for the Study of Popular Culture, had just started a lecture at Butler when he was hit.
Horowitz's supporters followed the assailants out of the hall, and confronted them with what a witness called "pushing and shoving." However, the attackers got away.
"There's a wave of violence on college campuses, committed by what I'd call fascists opposing conservatives," Horowitz said. "It's one step from that to injury."
After the incident, Horowitz completed his lecture.
It was the second time in a week that a conservative lecturer was hit by a pie at an Indiana university. On March 30, William Kristol, editor of The Weekly Standard, was attacked during a speech at Earlham College in Richmond.
Butler spokesman Marc Allan called Wednesday's incident "deplorable."

I despise Horowitz, and I don't think he's mentally stable. However, I think he's the last person stupid hippie liberal students should assault during campus visits, since he has far less class than guys like Buchanan and is much more likely to use this to his own advantage.

For the record, "les entartistes" (people who deposit cream pies into someone's face) movements do not select their targets based on race, religion, ot political affiliation. They are just as likely to "entarter" a conservative prick or a liberal prick, or any other type of prick.

I think there are some on the left who never had their minds to begin with (and some on the right as well). David Horowitz may be a humungous ass, but throwing a pie at him while he's trying to give a speech is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard.

There is a great Marxist scholar (Eugene D. Genovese) who wrote that as a college student in the conservative-dominated University of the 1950s, he was never once called epithets or subject to physical ridicule. My, how times have changed.
