WTF? You'd think if Best Buy was going to lower the Adult Swim DVD prices for Reward Zone members they'd actually put them at a decent price. That's super lame.

Thanks for the heads up on prices. I was hoping for a lot better price on Magnum since the MSRP is much lower for the 2nd season.

Thanks for the early prices, OP. Some of the 2/$15 look good at CC. I'll see if I can price match with BB since I'm in the Reward Zone. :)

Wow, I'm surprised to see Dig! listed at BB. That's a very entertaining documentary about the careers of two bands, The Dandy Warhols and The Brian Jonestown Massacre, if you haven't heard of it. I ordered it at DDD for about $14, I didn't think they'd have it at BB or Circuity City.

Im right there with you. If i wanted this crap i would go to Costco (which i do). Looks like im going to be getting the bulk of purchases at Circuit City and Target.

I still don't understand why everyone is so averse to buying the Reward Zone card. If you spend $300 in one year at Best Buy, you will basically be getting back your $10 investment. So far, in slightly over one year, I've accumulated $110+ so I'm way ahead of the game and I haven't bought a single big purchase....just DVDs, games, and CDs.

The biggest problem will be that we will no longer be able pricematch best buy at other retailers because they will say that it is a special promotion and they will weasel out of it. ala trying to pm Sams club etc

will Best Buy PM Circuit City's titles in the 2 for $15 sale?
Say I want a title from Best Buy's List, but also one from Circuit City's list. Will they pricematch and let me have them both for $15?

Exactly. I would likely never even recover the cost of the card because their prices suck. The few dvds I can't get from CH (or don't want to wait) are usually priced better elsewhere. Further, I've seen numerous posts bitching about how slow and screwed up the Reward Zone program is... I don't need the grief.

ok, a follow-up to that question. I assumed mixing/matching between stores could not be done.
Ok, so say I want Rain Man and Lost in Translation. Circuit City has them 2 for $15. They are not part of Best Buy's 2 for $15 sale. But i want to get reward zone points. So i want to get them at best buy. will Best Buy PM those titles at 2 for $15? Or do they only PM sales for individual items?

most likely yes. However, some stores will say that they will not PM "offers," which they consider this to be.
Still, it's more likely that they'd PM it.

I seriously doubt you could split the difference on the ads of two different stores, but there's only one way to find out.

I don't know about that scenario, but last week I bought Pulp Fiction and Jackie Brown from BB, pricematched to CC's 3 for $30 sale. I got those 2 DVD's (and only those 2) for $20 + tax.
So you may be able to get the CC title you want at BB for $7.50.

yeah, i figured the first scenario would not be accepted. But you have answered my question as to the second scenario. but it's interesting they didn't make you get a third title. pretty cool. but i assume it may be that way in some stores, and not in others. all depends on what the manager aloows, i guess?

It baffles me how people who buy hundreds of DVD's refuse to spend 10 freaking dollars for a RZ card.Even if you pay $10 for the card and only get 3 RZ certificates back throughout the year, you still came out ahead.Whatever floats your boat,i will continue to enjoy the benefits of the RZ program.

Yeah, but it only works if you spend most of your cash at BB. This was a great program when it was first introduced. Why? Because Best Buy's prices actually lived up to their name. Since the inception of the program, their prices on new releases have continued to be no better than their competitor's prices, and in many cases, several dollars more. What's the point of getting "rewards" if you're paying more in the first place? If I buy a lot of new releases, CC or Target are usually the places to go these days. BB rarely has better prices, which defeats the whole purpose of giving them your business.
As for catalog titles, they can be found online for the same price as BB, if not cheaper. Plus, for places like DDD, there is no tax, so you really come out ahead.
I was a member of the BB RZ program for a year. I enjoyed the benefits, but it was mostly a matter of having it because at the time, they were still the place to go for the best prices. That's no longer the case. It's much like Media Play's reward program. They once had excellent prices, but the introduction of a reward program resulted in inflated prices. The same is going on at BB and frankly, I think you've got the RZ program to thank for that.

if I'm buying something at Best Buy I'll usually Price Match. I rarely buy new releases from them anymore unless it's a Buena Vista or Fox title cuz you can't get those from Columbia House anymore.
I mostly buy a lot of 2 for $15, 3 for $20, 2 for $20 deals, etc. I also buy my video games there cuz of the $5 off $20 Gamers coupon.
