is uma thurman a good actress?

here's a question that i could ask about a number of people. but we'll start with uma.

is she actually a decent actress, or do people like her because she made a few fanboy movies in pulp fiction and kill bill 1/2?

to a large extent, i'm not sure she's done much except get roles that are appealing to men.

discuss.

She's done many varied roles a few besides the ones you've mentioned include "Beautiful Girls", "Mad Dog and Glory" and "Gattaca". I thought whe was spectacular in all these films... I don't think it's purely the Tarantino films that have made her so popular - I think it's her talent.

She's not bad. Nothing special.

She has tremendously long toes and fingers though, which scares me.

She's good... but she hasn't done anything yet deserving of any awards. I like her though and I'd cast her in my personal home movies.

With the length of her digits, she'd be able to star in the movie and operate the camera.

She's so goddamn ugly that she definitely did not become a hollywood star on her looks (like most ladies in the movies).

She has to be a good actress.

I don't think she's that hot. She's not terrible to look at, but nothing to drool over for me. As an actress, i think she's solid. Much like her looks, she's not a terrible actress, nor is she an incredibly gifted one.

Yeah, that's got to be why I liked Kill Bill - you hit the nail right on the head.

She's good. Not to say I like all her movies, but between Kill Bill, Pulp Fiction, Dangerous Liasons, Baron Munchausen and Tape, I feel confident in saying that she's good.

Very mediocre. Could easily be replaced in any of her films.

Did you see her first scene in COOL? Good. Lawd.

If that's "age catching up," then bring on the Ensure.

I think Uma's one of the really good physical action actresses working nowadays, plus, she's got that classical beauty that would fit in easily in the 1920's-1940's.

She's one of those "Will Smith above average type" actresses. I don't think she's anything special, but she's not a bad actress at all. I've enjoyed most of the movies I've seen her in. But I didn't buy her at all in Kill Bill. In fact, I've not been able to finish either movie because I just can't see her as that person. So, I don't know if I chalk that up to bad acting in that role or bad casting or bad directing or all of the above.
