Alex Sanchez is the biggest rock-head dolt to ever wear a uniform.
When he heard that MLB had a steroid policy, I'm sure he figured that meant he was supposed to start using them.

he is the worst fielder i have ever seen... and to be as fast as he is and still get caught stealing 50% of the time is a joke.
in summary, if you are one of the fastest guys in baseball, and batting ~330, you have to be one hell of a liability in center to get cut by the tigers.

lol why isnt Bonds suspended?
they just started testing.. and alex was the first person to test positive
if they started suspending people based on accusations and speculation.. 80% of baseball would be suspended.
Today there are 38 more suspensions including Damian Moss and Francisco Cordova. 8 from the Seattle orginaztion.
Canseco lies!!! All lies!!!

Wow if even crappy players are using steroids then that means probably everyone is. Crazy!

An anabolic milkshake sounds better than a water-soluble injection. But then again you can gain fat and muscle at the same time. Just a thought...

But this is a different situation. These weren't players that were tested while playing in the minors. These were players who were a part of a major league roster for Spring Training. Therefore, they were *technically* in the majors and not the minors. Also, in the past, MLB didn't really release lists about positive tests in the minors.

Oakland's David Castillo was suspended for 60 games, the penalty for a third violation. All the others were suspended for 15 games, the ban given to first offenders. A fourth violation would yield a one-year suspension. There is a lifetime ban for players who test positive a fifth time.
So was Sanchez on a minor league contract to only get 10 days when the ban for first time offenders is 15 ?

NEW YORK -- Colorado Rockies outfielder Jorge Piedra was suspended 10 days Monday for violating baseball's new policy on performance-enhancing drugs.
The suspension begins with the Rockies' game at Arizona on Monday night, the commissioner's office said.
Piedra, who was recalled from Triple-A Colorado Springs of the Pacific Coast League on Wednesday and sent back down the next day, is the second player to be publicly identified under the major leagues' tougher rules. Tampa Bay outfielder Alex Sanchez was suspended for 10 days last Monday.
Under the new policy that took effect last month, steroids and other performance-enchancing substances are the only drugs to draw a 10-day suspension. Baseball officials and the players' union agreed they would not disclose the exact substance for which a player tests positive.
The Rockies issued a statement Monday calling the incident "unfortunate."
"As an organization we have, and will continue to support Major League Baseball and its drug testing policies," said Keli McGregor, Rockies team president.

Well, not much hasn't changed on the Devil Rays front. We still suck and have that ass clown playing center field. :(
Juan Rincon is a name casual baseball fans should recognize.
