Saw this at two different stores today for $6.99. Is this just a marketing gimic to try to get more people into the show?

The funny thing is that even if you intend to buy the first-season set, you come out about $3 ahead if you buy this single-disc sampler first, because it comes with a coupon good for $10 off the first-season set. It's like spending $7 to get a $10 coupon.
