Culpeppers Agent Confirms Trade
Pro-Bowl quaterback Daunte Culpepper of the Minnesota Vikings will be traded to the Oakland Raiders for the wide receiver Randy Moss and Oakland's 2nd and 3rd round draft picks in the year’s draft. Culpeppers’ agent, Mason Ashe, confirmed the trade to the AP Press. This is the second major trade between the Raiders and the Vikings this off-season ,and the second that involves Moss.
Vikings coach Mike Tice responded by naming newly aquired QB Brad Johnson as the starter next year. Although, there is speculation that Minnesota will use it's first draft pick on a quarterback.
When asked to comment on the trade, Tice said "We wanted to overhaul both sides of the ball. Daunte is a talented quarterback, but this game is more about chemistry then talent. This will make us a better football team."
Current Vikings owner, Red McCombs, refused to comment. However perspective Vikings owner, Reggie Fowler, stated "I'm excited about the direction this team is headed. I think Daunte is a great quarterback, but his comments at the Pro Bowl, made the Vikings make a change that they didn't really want to make. His attitude in the locker room has been a distraction. I'm also excited the Vikings are getting Randy back".
The Vikings are holding a press conference at 2:00 PM tomorrow, presumably to announce the trade.
