MAME Challenge #35 (4/1-4/15)
MAMEbowl XXXV is over!
We're going to have a new thread twice a month to see who can get the high score on 4 different games in MAME. I think the changes are basically finalized, but if you think we should change something or you just see a mistake, please say so.
The NEW Rules:
Download MAME to play the games.
New to MAME? Feel free to ask questions here or read the tutorials
I am going to host the current ROMs and list of all the past winners and high scores here.
The Games:
(click the games for info and how to play)
Crazy Balloon (set 1) - Winning Score: devilshalo 40430
Puzz Loop (USA) - Winning Score: D300 572830
Solomon's Key (Japan) - Winning Score: gimmepilotwings 495210
Splatter House (Japan) - Winning Score: Professor Frink 93200
The Prize:
Whoever gets the high score for one of the current games picks the next game that replaces it. You also get your nameengraved permanently etched onto this eye catching trophy with a genuine Sharpie!

The NEW Rules:
- To enter, you just play one of the games and post a screenshot (F12 key in MAME) with your score.
- The deadline to post your high scores will be 11:59 PM on the 15th of the month.
- Any games should be played with one credit and no continues or any features that you wouldn't get by playing the actual machine.
- Submitted scores should be played during the designated time period, not scores you've gotten in the past.
- The winner can pick any game from MAME that we haven't already played for the next thread.
- If the winner doesn't pick a new game before the new thread starts, we will continue to play that game until someone else wins or the winner returns to choose a game. If a new game isn't chosen after 3 days, then the person with the next highest score gets the pick.
- If you play and beat any of the high scores from the previous games we've played, you can submit them here for the All Time Top Scores.

I didn't even write my own name twice for the previous threads, no way I'd do yours By the way, anyone wanting an easy score to beat for the free-for-all, check out the week where I won all 3 games
I had to do the whole trophy over so I could put 4 names on it, and now I just noticed I forgot the DVD Talk logo to cover the 1999. Doh!

Go ahead and redownload Puzz Loop. It had a seperate bios file I like Metal Slug did. Sorry bout that.
Hate to be a whiner, but more high score list screenshots and you keep posting thumbnails Use the link that says "hotlink for forums (1)" please so I don't have to click the link to ImageShack every time. Thanks

Solomon's Key is pretty easy, I think that can be beat. Crazy Balloon I only played once.
Puzz Loop isnt my type of game, I dont have enough patience. My wife could probably get the high score though.

Well, maybe I just suck at Crazy Balloon. I put at least a couple dollars in it last night. I came close with about 11,000, but it took me some practice. You have a knack for quick starts. I still don't know how you got that I'm Sorry score so fast.
Your wife can play if she wants, but I don't know how I'd fit Mrs. Gimmepilotwings on that trophy. I wish Mordred and his wife would return
I guess I may as well post this. I had a little beginner's luck for my first game on Puzz Loop. I usually get 1/4th this score.
You can choose Panic Mode or Stage Mode
