I don't think anyone's happy with the changes to the Funcash. However, even if you cannot use all of your Funcash on a box set, combining $10 or $20 Funcash with 40% off is a great deal no matter where you shop.

Say you're thinking about the Film Noir V2 set that's coming. Assuming it is priced at $50, 40% off would make it $30. $30 -$10 in Funcash is $20. $20 / $50 = .4. That is 60% percent off. The upcoming Controversial Classics would be an ever greater bargain. (.6)($70) - $20 = $22 out of pocket. That's ~69% off.

Even after the 21st rolls around, I am still going to save my Funcash. You?

I still buy things using standard deals instead of just cycling accounts (I still do make new accounts occasionally, but not as much as most people here), so of couse I'll still spend whatever FC I accumulate, but I'm not gonna jump on double FC offers and buy things I wouldn't have otherwise. I may still buy box sets, but it would probably be better to get them as a fulfillment.

I'll continue to move FC from account-to-account (when allowed to do so), but no more purchasing essentially only for FC (like the 9x deal that I spent way too much just to get booku FC for cheap).

The problem is that once I add $7.99 shipping + state tax my total would be back to the original $30 price. And this is under a 'best-case assumption' where they combine a funcash redemption period with a 40% off boxsets sale. It's entirely possible that I could do better just waiting until DDDs next 20% off sale (where I pay no shipping or tax). In essence, my $10 in funcash is only getting me free shipping and no tax... which I can get 365 days a year at DDD.

From what I've read, getting your funcash transferred to DV2 is a hit-and-miss proposition. I really don't feel like calling multiple times and begging different CSR's to do the transfer in hopes of finding one that is willing. Besides, right now opening another CH-related account is about the last thing I want to do.

Worked for me on my very first try. Called up and asked for my funcash to be transferred to my DV2 account. The CSR was very friendly and willing to help. Probably YMMV, but it was certainly painless for me. What I'm wondering now is, will shipping still be free when using funcash in the DV2 club? For the other CH clubs, special shipping promotions vanish and you pay standard shipping charges when using funcash, but in DV2 the standard shipping charge *is* zero (i.e., free shipping isn't a special promotion, its the standard). Guess we'll find out in about 2 weeks.

PS: The CSR told me that the funcash redemption period will last until the end of May.

The "search" function is your friend.

"dv2" and other three character combinations aren't the search function's friend. Reading the first page is everyone's friend!

Since we are off the subject of the OP...

USE THE SEARCH FEATURE!

Here's the link of MY SEARCH FOR "DV2 CLUB"

http://www.dvdtalk.com/forum/search.php?searchid=236778

Look through some of those threads and you will surely find your answer!

And no.. I'm not trying to be a PITA either. New posters hardly never use search.

Have fun.

evit... surely you should have known! Funcash has gone to your brain! rotfl

OK, where's the missing thread on funcash?

I'm not an authority on this but when I last read that now missing thread people were suggesting that it be deleted along with a few others. I am guessing that is what happened.

That is BS. Many of us are bargain hunters, and how we should deal with a loss of several hundred of dollars worth of Funcash is in my opinion worthy of discussion. Anyone who doesn't want to read the thread doesn't have to. I am sick of the whiners and disgusted by how the mods are kowtowing to them. I am really annoyed.

Mods - how about at least providing an explanation, to help us better understand what went into your decision? TIA.

just to be clear, the mods did NOT delete the thread. the person who created the thread did.
