Any one know when it is going to be released in the UK? Hopefully it will be a great release with English Subtitles included...
Keep me updated on any news for GEGEN DIE WAND

No news as of yet....but you could get the Korean release which is (suprisingly) not so shabby at all.
Easily my top pick so far...this year.....
thanks Pro-B for including the link, I couldn't for the life of me recall what the English translated title of this film was.

Any one know when it is going to be released in the UK? GEGEN DIE WAND
It appears that the newly founded SODA PICTURES will be releasing Head-On in the UK later this Fall. More to follow up...
In addition they will be releasing an array of recent European productions:
La Finestra Di Fronte
the recent Danish production Brothers (Connie Nielsen)
The German academy winner The Mirracle of Bern...
Christopher Boe's Reconstruction.....
Alison Peebles' Afterlife
Let's hope these folks will match Artificial Eye in terms of quality....

I saw "Afterlife" at Palm Springs in 2004 - I thought it was pretty terrible.
looking forward to renting "The Miracle of Bern"

"Brothers" is a pretty decent film - would like to get the DVD, but the current Danish release is a bit expensive...

Gegen Die Wand has been set to be released on August 28 -UK.
I'm gonna get the UK disc since this is a new company.

Having just seen The Miracle of Bern (another Soda release)...the UK version is the one I would go for as well. The image is absolutely stunning...crystal clear. The only setback in my opinion is the fact that they (for now) license only 2.0 soundtracks.
The UK cover also looks much better. And Strand....nope...thank's.

Looks like the UK edition of Head-On will offer director's commentary and a short feature.
my review of the R1 will be up in 24 hours. The R3 review I already posted, and the R2 review will be up in about 2 weeks.

i am in near desperation mode to see this film, for many reasons.
my question is this: is the image quality in the R1 disk really that bad? i do not have an all-region dvd player, i have never bought an international disk (ie non region 1) before, and i'm not even quite sure how to go about it, even if i wanted to (presumably) spend the extra money. i understand the PAL/NTSC discrepancy, but as i'm using a relatively no-frills set-up (ie 32'' tv and normal dvd player, nothing more) will it even be noticeable?
i'm usually as much of a completist as the rest of you, which is why i don't particularly *want* to get the lesser version, but if it's between that and not owning it...plus it seems the extras do not overlap, just in case i wanted to oneday double-dip...
(although that soda pictures cover art *is* pretty amazing...and the company seems to have some very, very cool films)

As I mentioned in my review I COULD tell that it is a PAL port from a mile. Maybe you could give it a shot and see what happens. Fact of the matter is some people are less sensitive than others.
