Elephant was actually an album that lived up to the hype and praise, IMO, whereas White Blood Cells fell short. So I'm definitely looking forward to this one.

Agreed, I got into the Stripes a little late and I saved White Blood Cells as my last purchase.

I just got into the White Stripes with "Elephant" a little over a year ago. I haven't checked out any of their old stuff yet. Should I? Which one(s)? I really like their style and sound. I'll definitely pick up the new one.

Personally, I think De Stijl is the place to go next.

Looks like the name of the album is Get Behind Me Satan and the release date is now June 7th.

Maybe a mod could edit the thread title to reflect the new release date.

Definitely, then go their first (self titled) and save white blood cells for last.

http://indie1031.fm/ This station's playing Blue Orchid now

I think it's great and refreshing. It's definitely not 8 Nation Army... can't wait to see the video and hear the rest of the album

Wow, thanks! Interesting tune, they're continuing to evolve. Great guitar work; not as nuts about Jack's falsetto vocals as I am his other voices, but I'm still excited to hear rest of album.

I think the whole working-with-Beck thing rubbed off. At least in the very beginning of the vocals. Quite funny.

Then again, from the few White Stripes songs I have heard, the vocals are always very different.

I personally love the song Jack did with Loretta Lynn -- just noticed LiquidSky seems to like it a lot as well.
