hi! I know the region 1 season six set does not contain an anamorphic version of Once More With Feeling, but is there another region that does? If so, two questions: is it available as a single disc and is the quality better than the region 1 presentation?
thanks!

The R2 UK sets have it and all the episodes from S4-7 in anamorphic 16x9.

Not to open a can of worms, but keep in mind that 1.33:1 is the creator's preferred aspect ratio for Buffy. The UK sets aren't framed terribly, but they do reveal some stuff on the sides that was never meant to be seen. (The exception, of course, is the specific episode you're talking about... which was meant to be watched 16x9.)
That being said, it is certainly a travesty that the R1 sets did not include an anamorphic transfer of OMWF. There was really no excuse for that.

Hi there
This is my first post so go easy on me please :-).
Once More With Feeling is available in the UK as a separate disc, PAL region 2. I don't have it myself but, according to Amazon.co.uk, it's anamorphic widescreen and has a few extras. Amazon.co.uk have it for £5.97 plus shipping and CD WOW have it for £6.99 including shipping. Links below:

Sure there was. Laziness! -screwy-

Since the PAL DVDs run 4% faster due to the NTSC>PAL conversion method used, watching the R2 DVD of OMWF may be disconcerting to some because all the songs are slightly higher pitched.

Wouldn't that also be true of all the dialogue?

Yes, but it's particularly noticeable with the songs.
thanks for all the info! i hadn't considered that the R2 discs would run faster... i guess I'll just stick with the R1 set. I have to say that I am pleasantly surprised how good OMWF looks even zoomed in... I'll keep my fingers crossed for a 16x9 NTSC version

I'm guessing Fox will eventually bring out the single disc version here, perhaps as another Buffy "Starter Kit." There's probably alot of casual fans out there who would just want the musical or more die hard fans (like me) wouldn't mind spending $10 dollars for a version with a better transfer and maybe a few more features. I already have the UK edition, but the PAL encoding is kind of a tradeoff on the better picture quality.
Fox exploits The Simpsons the same way with the single disc releases. It couldn't possibly cost them that much to release OMWF as a single disc also.

i agree....when i see things in PAL or taken from a PAL master....i usually only notice the difference in pitch with music....not with normal dialogue.
