Just saw Paths of Glory lately and loved it. At $10 it's not an expensive purchase, but just thought i'd check.
I know there's been rumor of a 2001 SE, and Dr. Strangelove was just done recently, so i'm wondering if there's any rumor or word about these two.
Is the current Paths of Glory dvd good enough? I've heard The Shining needs some remastering. Thanks in advance amigos.

if warner ends up doing an update of the kubrick set then you will see the third incarnation of the shining on dvd. Paths of Glory isn't looking promising. It was one of the few titles Warner couldn't get their hands on for its box, don't see that one coming out anytime soon....it's cheap, get it now and enjoy it.

This is true of the first release, which was an atrocious port-over of the old LaserDisc transfer. The new "Restored and Remastered" release, though, is gorgeous--buy it with no reservations. The PATHS OF GLORY disc currently out is a disappointment in terms of extra features, but features a surprisingly strong transfer so, for only $10, this is a no-brainer.

That pretty much settles it. Looks like i'll just pick them both up now. Thanks boys.
