Do you always take the freebie with a DVD?

I was picking up The Incredibles at Walmart this morning and was confronted with choosing between the regular package or the one that came with the PC-CD with the print-shop type extras at the same price.

I kept telling myself that I should take the freebie and just throw it out when I didn't use it. But after pondering it for a minute I knew I would never use it and it would end being another piece of crap hanging around the house until it got tossed. So I took the flavor without it. On the way out I patted myself on the back for my restraint.

When I told some people at work about my experience they said that they would take the freebie no matter what it was (gross out exception excluded).

Is it standard operating procedure for you guys to take the freebie no matter what it is?

I always take the freebies as well. Part of the reason I have samples, previews, bonus discs, books, stuffed animals, keychains, etc.. all in a box, of the stuff I've gotten and not sure what to do with.

Sometimes though, it's something I really want, so I'll pay even a few more dollars if I have to, to get an extra disc, or added pack-in.

It depends. In this case it was a non-issue for me because I had $20 in coupons from my replay account so I got the DVD for free at Suncoast. But, had I had no coupons, I probably would have gotten it at Costco or some such place that has it cheaper and would have given the bonus disc to someone with kids or who likes those themed print studio things. That's what I did with the CD's given to me when I purchased Spirit and Star Wars - Episode II: Attack of the Clones.

Virtually every time. Sometimes I'll pay a little more for it [which of course makes it not a freebie], but if they're giving something away, I'll take it. I can always either use it or give it away or ebay it.
I saw that at WM the other day, and thought, Man, I could have gotten this card printer software. But then thought, well, I don't have much use for card printing software, esp. Incredibles-themed software, and I had already bought the dvd from CC with the basketball.

More often than not, yes. However, I'm not really the type to wait outside of a store to get a freebie that may only be available to the first 50 customers or so.

I always take the freebie even if it's useless. You could always give it away or sell it.

Me neither. I went to CC right after it opened, went in, grabbed a ball and dvd, walked around looking at stuff, checked out. But I don't queue up before the store opens to rush in.

I never do. Just crap I do not want or need, laying around, and will end up in the trash anyway.

I always do, same with most hot deals on here. I get them with people in mind.. I personally don't want much or most of the free crap, I hate clutter, but I know somebody who would take it, and be thankful.. So I'll hook them up.

When the premium is worthwhile. I saw no use for a mini Incredibles basketball, so I passed. I've got enough junk in my house as it is.

Depends on what I'm gettin' free...so sometimes. I don't just get something to have it...or sell it. I have no extra time for dumping stuff.

I was under the impression (also by price signs) that the Incredibles Photo CD was five dollars more (hence not free) - and I didn't see anything else around that would suffice a five dollar increase.

Yes, it was $5 more on release day. I picked up the regular set for $14.88 and the set with the Photo CD was $19.88. Are they the same price now?

Yeah, it's no longer $14.88 at my Walmart.

My wife told me it was but by the time I dragged my butt there it was back over $19 and the same price as the version with the CD.

I was there to pick my copy up on release day, and they were different prices. But you cannot 100% understand Wal-Marts prices as they are always YMMV...

I think I misworded that wrong. I meant I didn't see anything (another kind of cd) that would suffice a freebie...

My bad.

I can't stand the free crap that places like Best Buy use to drag people into the stores. 90% of the time it's worthless and will only serve as land-fill fodder. I always just pick up the dvd and leave the free stuff alone unless it's packaged with the dvd and I have no choice.

It all depends...I try to go with whatever is the cheapest and I have too much junk as it is and dont need anymore. However, if its kinda cool, I may get it. That Incredibles lithograph looked pretty cool but my mother in law bought it for me at CC and I got the basketball instead. I look really weird showing up to the courts with it though.

OMFG.

To be fair, I have a toothache and drugged up on Lortab...

I might have to see a psychologist. I am kinda screwy lately.
